What Skills Will I Learn?

Language Development

  • To develop language skills by talking to the children often and clearly about all you are doing and to discuss what occurs in the daily routine and listen carefully to what they are trying to say. Use sentences that have descriptor words such as, “The red car is big”.
  • To develop listening skills through the exposure to stories and circle time activities.
  • To develop an understanding for what happens in a story by using a variety of books and reading them frequently.
  • To develop the ability to listen to what other people say by creating play experiences where children can interact with each other.

Social-Emotional Development

  • To develop the feeling of love, trust and encouragement through consistency of routine, fair and appropriate discipline, praise and recognition for accomplishments and treating each child with dignity and respect.
